The Insomnia Files;

Thu Nov 19, 2009, 5:37 PM
Heh, sorry for sending out three journals in somewhere around the course of two days but I feel like writing this stuff down (It's my journal and I'll write entries about stuff I want to :nana: )

Anyway, thanks to everyone who responded to last night's late night whine -erm... entry. I picked up a couple suggestions I'll keep in mind and the encouragement is appriciated (for anyone who normally comments and didn't have time, um, it's the thought that counts? :D)

So, as expected, I'm exhausted. After going to sleep shortly after one I woke up often and did an annoying amount of tossing and turning. By the time my alarm went off I had all the will power it took to hit the snooze button... several times... In the end I didn't get breakfast.

Surgery was fun. Personally it would have been more fun if there hadn't been two people assigned to anesthesia but what can you do? The girl I got stuck with has one of those dominant personalities that insists on doing everything herself, even if she doesn't know what she'd doing  so she not only monopolized most of the anesthesia tasks, she also monopolized the instructor that was supposed to be helping all six of us students. Fortunately everyone else was pretty good at their jobs.

After the surgery we took the dog into recovery (after my partner scared the fur off the poor thing. By the way; surgical tables may be big and metal, but they require a gentle touch or they'll drop suddenly.) After monitoring him for a while most of us had to go to class so we were forced to leave the only girl without class stranded in recovery watching the dog for two hours before someone could relieve her (we owe her flowers... and maybe chocolates...)

For those two hours I was in anesthesia lab learning how to X-ray a horse (a very pretty horse who unfortunately has a mischevious streak ;p) Before I could get back and relieve the poor stranded girl.

During that time I grabbed lunch in a box from the cafeteria and took the dog for a walk when he was awake enough. (ever seen a dog who's half sedated try to mark a tree? :XD: Poor guy.) He was awake enough to be unattended by about one thirty so I could go to class without leaving anyone in charge of him.

After an hour of note taking I checked on the dog again and joined the other girls in folding and wrapping the stuff we'd used that morning so that it could be sterilized. Guess who got stuck waiting for everything to go through the autoclave? (thing-a-ma-jigs that cook all the germs away) ME!

So, from seven fourty-five this morning until five thirty this afternoon; and there's still more to be done tomorrow! For one surgery! :XD:

Anyway... long story short; I had fun today but now my feet hurt. :( Bummer.

So, tonight I'm going to try something new; sleeping. I'm going to try a basic routine to start letting my body know when bed time is and see if that helps any; wish me luck!

And now; since some of you have been kind enough to read this far (if you skipped; no fair! Cheaters!) I've got some links! Three hilarious videos by the same person (sorry non-turtle fans, they're turtle vids)

Intro; Hi! I am 54viruses; the viral one. I am an author due to my love of all things liturature and my complete fail when it comes to drawing. :(
I am a Vet Tech student, small animal, with plans to enlist in the Army after graduation.

Interests and work; As you can probably see I am a near-rabid Ninja turtle fan. No single terrapin warrior has caught my adoration but I love when they work as the family they are. I write a great deal of turtle fanfiction but also produce a large number of original works.
I also love to write more spiritual pieces but as I can't get these to come together right they probably won't be posted.

Final note
A false friend allows you to believe what is false
A good friend always tell you the truth
A best friend you've already interupted with "don't answer that!"
